In an area saturated with hotels and Airbnbs, Brooklyn is known for its variety of alluring places for guests to stay. In the heart of Williamsburg, lies a boutique hotel experience unlike most in New York. With an unparalleled name and a brand that could live up to its expectations, Hotel 42 was born. The meaning behind the number 42 was derived from the heritage of the developers and its connotation of community. We wanted to hold onto the integrity of the name through the brand and did so by focusing on different ways to bring this to the surface. Working together with renowned illustrator Antonio Stella, we were able to create illustrations specifically curated to demonstrate the hotels' experiences and amenities. A foldable, pocket-sized brochure was produced and this became a focal point to tell the story of Hotel 42 through the illustrations and showcase all the hotel has to offer. The brochure also functions as a community guide, and highlights all the points of interest around the neighborhood. A main feature of the boutique hotel is the attention to interior design detail from Andre Escobar, to compose each room too feel like a personal apartment. The Hotel features a special service to help customize the guests comfort by interchanging specific items to be in your room before you enter. This feature along with the art directed interior design, established the tagline of Curated Comfort, to emphasize the unique intricacies guests will experience. We then moved onto branding the hotel bar which we named Community, and helped establish connective tissue to the brand DNA.
